Nature Advisory Pty Ltd is an employee-owned ecological consultancy advising corporate, government and private clients on ecosystem monitoring, conservation management, development impact assessment and biodiversity regulatory compliance. We have offices in Hawthorn East, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra and work on projects throughout Australia. We offer highly flexible work arrangements.

Our growing team has a vacancy for a Senior Ecological Consultant. The successful candidate will have experience undertaking ecological investigations, proven abilities in managing monitoring or impact assessment projects and skills in, or transferrable to, consulting. The position involves:

  • Sharing your passion and knowledge with a diverse team;
  • Improving and expanding your ecological knowledge;
  • Planning and implementing ecological assessments;
  • Understanding environmental legislation and policy applicable in Victoria;
  • Providing advice to clients;
  • Analysing data, writing documents, and editing reports;
  • Preparing and delivering timely quotes for services;
  • Achieving nature positive outcomes;
  • Working with a team of committed ecologists;
  • Building and maintaining client relationships; 
  • Monitoring project budgets and invoicing for work done; and
  • Contributing to our strategic direction, management, and culture.

The position provides an excellent opportunity for a professional ecologist with relevant experience who has a mature, respectful, and service-focussed approach to delivering excellent work for our clients. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team committed to a high standard of technical work and client service. You will be contributing to the management and growth of an almost 25 year-old, employee-owned business employing over 70 staff.

Candidates must have graduate or post-graduate qualifications in ecology or a related field. A sound knowledge of biodiversity in Victoria and well-developed communication skills are essential. A track record in ecological project management and knowledge of biodiversity legislation and policies would be useful. A current driver’s license is required.
