Nairm Marr Djambana is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Gathering Place and Neighbourhood House that provides culturally strengthening services to the First Nations community in the Frankston area. We are a small, dedicated and fun team that are committed to the health, wellbeing and happiness of our community.

About the role

Reporting to the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator, the Aboriginal Access and Support Officer will promote the health and wellbeing of our community by:

• Providing patient transport, support and service navigation
• Supporting community members to access Nairm Marr Djambana’s events, programs and activities, enabling our clients to be active and engaged.

About you

To be our Aboriginal Access and Support Officer, you will:

• Want to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of First Nations people
• Have a background in aged care, disability, community and/or the Aboriginal health sectors
• Have knowledge of the social and cultural determinants of health for First Nations people and the barriers to accessing healthcare
• Enjoy engaging with First Nations people and services in a culturally safe, effective and sensitive way
• Have good time management skills
• Current Victorian Drivers Licence and have an excellent driving record.
