ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.

About the Role

The Senior Project Officer, Prison Health Reform and Programs is a key member of the Prison Health Reform team and is responsible for delivering quality outputs and project milestones. The role requires good communication skills and attention to detail, the ability to manage competing requests, and stakeholder collaboration. The role is also responsible for supporting the design and development of this project and other ad hoc tasks, as directed.

The successful candidate will have a positive, contemporary attitude, and lead culturally responsive efforts and engagement to enable the ACCHO sector to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities experiencing cancer.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of projects and reform initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk registers and reporting frameworks.
  • Support the establishment and ongoing coordination of a community of practice, including reporting, dashboards and briefing materials.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities to track progress and outcomes and continuous improvement.
