The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally.

About the Role

The Grants and Program Operations Coordinator supports the delivery of the NACCHO Cancer Program and national cancer initiatives aligned with the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Plan. The role is responsible for coordinating grants management, funding agreements, contracts, implementation tracking, payments, reporting, and operational support across multiple Cancer Program streams, while contributing to continuous improvement of systems, workflows, and governance processes in a fast-paced environment.

The position works in close collaboration with ACCHOs, Affiliates, government agencies, and internal teams to support culturally safe,
community-led approaches that improve cancer outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:

  • Coordinate grant management and operational activities across Cancer Program funding streams and initiatives.
  • Support administration and monitoring of funding agreements, contracts, deliverables, milestones, acquittals, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee implementation tracking, payment coordination, contract timelines, and follow-up with ACCHOs and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with ACCHOs regarding funding requirements, reporting obligations, implementation progress, and operational support needs. 

About You 

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, business administration, public health, health administration, or a related field are desirable.
  • Experience in grants management, contracts administration, or program/project coordination
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and workstreams.
  • Experience tracking reporting, funding milestones, deliverables, and payments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to identify and support improvements to operational systems and workflows.
