Are you passionate about social justice and ready to make a real impact in the lives of Aboriginal people across the Northern Territory? Join the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) and use your legal skills to advocate for fairness, dignity, and equality.
NAAJA provides high-quality legal assistance and justice services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the Northern Territory. With offices in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs, NAAJA is recognised nationally for its commitment to justice, advocacy, and community-driven outcomes.
We are a purpose-driven organisation that strives to deliver culturally competent, trauma-informed, and accessible legal services while driving systemic change through law reform and community education.
NAAJA’s Civil Law team is a dynamic and diverse practice providing legal support across areas including housing, social security, discrimination, tenancy, and victims of crime assistance claims.
As a Civil Lawyer (Housing and Social Security Practice Group), you’ll deliver high-quality legal advice, casework, and representation to Aboriginal clients, helping to address systemic disadvantage and uphold rights in housing and welfare systems.
You’ll conduct litigation, attend urban and remote advice clinics, and collaborate closely with community organisations and government agencies. This role also contributes to policy and law reform initiatives that aim to achieve lasting justice for Aboriginal people in the NT.
Be part of a respected, community-controlled organisation that’s creating pathways to justice and empowering Aboriginal people across the Territory. Apply Now!
NAAJA values diversity and strongly encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
