Warakirri College offers Year 10 and HSC courses to young people 15-22 who have disconnected from mainstream educational pathways, but who now want to complete their education in a safe and inclusive context.

Due to the strong growth in student numbers at all campuses, Warakirri College is seeking to appoint a full-time permanent English/History Teacher at our Fairfield Campus. With very small classes, a flexible adult learning environment and a happy team of dedicated professionals the school supports young people facing social disadvantage in Fairfield, Blacktown and our new campus in Campbelltown.

The successful candidate will be:

• Flexible, creative English/History teacher
• Keen to support students' individual needs
• Confident in using IT
• Able to build strong professional relationships with staff and students
• Good communicator who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people

Essential to the role:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications including a Bachelor's Degree and Diploma of Education or equivalent
• Accreditation with NESA
• Experience in delivery of Stage 5/6 English & History curricula
• Ability to teach young people who have faced social challenges
• High level of judgment, flexibility and foresight to prioritise/resolve issues in line with College requirements and student needs
• Highly developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Experience in teaching a subject other than English or History to HSC level is beneficial
