The opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join our Specialist MS and Other Acquired Neurological Conditions program, supporting people with neurological conditions to achieve sustainable, meaningful employment.

Based in Townsville, you’ll champion inclusive hiring by connecting clients with supportive employers and guiding them into workplaces where they can thrive. As an Employment Development Consultant (EDC), you’ll combine coaching, reverse marketing, and in‑ work support to break down barriers and create lasting outcomes.

This is a full-time, on-site position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:36pm.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide personalised 1:1 support through job search, placement, and retention
  • Complete onboarding, assessments, and co‑ create strengths‑ based Job Plans
  • Partner with clinicians to deliver coordinated, holistic support
  • Coach clients through resumes, interviews, and workplace expectations
  • Build employer relationships and manage wage subsidies and Job Access supports

You bring

  • You’re passionate about inclusive employment and skilled at building trust, with both clients and employers. You bring:
  • Experience in employment services, disability support, community services OR strong transferrable experience from roles such as recruitment, customer service, account management, sales, coaching, education, case management, or allied support (and the willingness to learn the employment services landscape)
  • A Cert IV or higher qualification (highly regarded) or a commitment to work toward relevant professional development
  • A strong interest in understanding the employment barriers faced by people with disability, and a willingness to build your knowledge in neurological conditions (training and support will be provided)
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Solid digital capability, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn employment systems such as JobReady (prior experience is helpful but not essential)
  • A growth mindset, curiosity, and keenness to learn, you enjoy feedback, reflect on practice, and keep building your capability

Compliance requirements

To be successful in this role, you’ll be required to complete:

  • NDIS Worker Screening
  • Blue Card
  • National Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Training

(MS Queensland covers the cost of the Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Cards.)
