Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation delivering emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. We operate in over 70 countries and depend on skilled technical experts to manage the logistics and supply chain of projects in the communities we serve.

We are currently seeking to build our pool of experienced Supply Chain experts available for overseas assignments.

The Role

As a Supply Chain Manager with MSF Australia you will work internationally by taking full ownership of a field program's logistics supply chain, working at the intersection of logistics and medicine and ensuring that the supplies and equipment needed to deliver life-saving care reach the right place at the right time. Role responsibilities include:

  • Manage the project’s end-to-end supply chain: local and international procurement, stock management, warehousing, and monitoring deliveries of supplies and equipment.
  • Analyse prices, conduct quality control, and place orders with local and international suppliers.
  • Organise procurement for the project and track consumption to ensure supply continuity.
  • Supervise and train logistics teams, including locally employed and international personnel.
  • Manage associated administrative responsibilities including tendering, contracts, and supplier evaluations.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in logistics/transport, procurement, supply chain management, management, international business administration or a related discipline with a specialisation in logistics/supply chain.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a logistics/supply chain role with responsibilities in one or more of the following domains: procurement, supply chain including cold chain, warehousing, transport, customs (import/export), demand planning and inventory management, supply information systems, supply processes synchronisation.
  • Professional experience in people management and supervision
  • Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Office applications

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in a low resource or international humanitarian aid environment
  • French language skills (B2 or higher) a strong advantage
