The Medical Scientists Association of Victoria, part of the Health Services Union Vic Branch 4, is a registered trade Union representing workers in public, community and private health settings, working as medical scientists, hospital pharmacists, psychologists, medical physicists, dietitians, audiologists, genetic counsellors and clinical perfusionists across Victoria.
We are looking for someone who understands Unions, has a drive for workplace organising and/or industrial relations, and has a passion for social justice, to join our growing team. As our staff expands through enthusiastic membership growth, we are open-minded about what skills and experience the next addition might bring - and to that end, this role can be heavily sculpted around the right applicant with the ability to focus heavily on workplace organising, campaigns, industrial advocacy or a blend of these. To that end, we genuinely invite applications from a range of Union backgrounds - including traditional Industrial Officer or Organiser roles, or other Union roles.
We offer a unique, dynamic working environment with flexibility to balance some work from home with office-based and on-site work, along with a competitive salary and great employment conditions.
We will support you to grow your skills in this role, and there will be significant opportunities to tailor the role to suit your strengths and interests.
A salary range of between $106,700 - $134,400, inclusive of a vehicle allowance, will be negotiated with the successful applicant, depending on qualifications and experience. An additional higher qualifications allowance may be payable for relevant postgraduate qualifications (though such qualifications are not an essential requirement for application).
While we are looking primarily for a full-time applicant, part-time hours may be able to be negotiated for the right applicant.
The terms and conditions we provide our workers are heavily based on what negotiate for our key member groups:
Work can be performed hybrid; both in office (Carlton) and from home, with some negotiable flexibility around this (noting that there will be an expectation to be out in members' workplaces from time to time as needed). The exact working hours are negotiable.
We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible, and will commence interviews while advertising is ongoing, so prospective applicants are encouraged to apply at earliest opportunity.
