The Organisation

ClimateWorks Australia is an expert, independent adviser, acting as a bridge between research and action to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions for Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. It was co-founded in 2009 by The Myer Foundation and Monash University and works within the Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI). ClimateWorks Australia also benefits from strong relationships with an international network of affiliated organisations that support effective policies, financing and action for greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Analyst to join our team in playing a key role in gathering important data and using your expert analytical skills to translate the same into meaningful information and insights. Your analytical capabilities will see you support the important work of our Energy System team, catalysing emission reductions through energy efficiency, transport electrification, and shifting to clean energy in both Australia and Southeast Asian countries. Some of your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing research, analysis and providing insights into ClimateWorks’ initiatives on a regular basis
  • Managing and maintaining research findings and insights in an organised and systematic manner
  • Providing high-level and expert analytical insights to key stakeholders in supporting key strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with a variety of various internal departments to achieve shared, targeted outcomes

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have demonstrated experience in a Senior Analytical role where you have used your in depth analytical and insights skills to support key strategic decision making. You will have the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and have the ability to tailor your communication of the same technical information to suit the needs of your target audience. You will have experience or exposure to energy policy and energy markets including having an understanding of the international context as well as key climate change technologies and concepts.
