About The Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Drug and Alcohol counsellor role within our Drug and Alcohol Services at our consortium site within SECADA Dandenong. There is an opportunity to work either full time or part time, working across weekdays 8:30am – 5pm and Wednesday 10:36am - 7:00pm as negotiated.

This exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Nurse (RN Grade 3 / RPN Grade 3), Social Worker (Grade 2), Psychologist (Grade 2) or Occupational Therapist (Grade 2) to work with Monash Health Drug & Alcohol Service and Secada in the provision of counselling services for people presenting with drug and alcohol issues. This position will work closely with Intake and Assessment workers within Secada, Non-residential withdrawal services, the Community Residential Withdrawal Unit and other treatment components of Secada along with external resources and service providers.

In 2014, The South Eastern Consortium Alcohol and Drug Agencies (Secada) formed to provide alcohol and other drug (AOD) services in the South Eastern Catchment. The consortium comprises South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network as the lead agency in collaboration with Odyssey House Victoria, Taskforce Community Agency, YSAS Pty Ltd, Windana Drug & Alcohol Recovery and Monash Health Drug & Alcohol Service (formerly known as SEADS), connected through an MOU and a united commitment to providing opportunities for change and growth in the catchment.

About You

You have been developing your counselling skills or you are an accomplished drug and alcohol/mental health counsellor in an Allied health professional’s field such as Social work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology and Nursing. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence based care to all clients.

What You Need:

  • Relevant Qualification in Allied Health (See position description)
  • Demonstrated experience
  • Current AHPRA registration or relevant board
  • Current Australian Driver’s license
  • Australian working rights
