About our Surgical Ward at Dandenong

Our surgical ward at Dandenong has 20 beds and cares for plastics, reconstructive plastics, facio - maxillary, head and neck and gynaecology patients. We are now looking for a committed, highly motivated associate manager to join our pursuit of excellence in delivering high quality care, research and education.

About the Role

This ANM role presents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Nurse seeking career progression to ANM or an experienced ANM looking for a new challenge. Ideally you will have demonstrated skills in management and people leadership as you will be responsible for managing the day to day operations, staffing and patient care of a hospital ward or similar. Your responsibilities will also extend to:

  • Ensuring your team practises safely and within its scope of practice to deliver a high standard of evidence based nursing care
  • Critically reviewing patient flow, identifying actual and/or potential barriers and identifying solutions
  • Setting the direction for the unit and communicating expectations to achieve service targets, improve efficiency and optimise patient experience
  • Monitoring and managing the unit budget to deliver expected outcomes

Full & Part Time ongoing roles available with flexibility to work a minimum of 0.4 EFT, across a 24/7 rotating roster.

About You

Ideally you already have nursing management experience and are seeking to leverage your skills and experience in a surgical setting. Surgical nursing experience will be highly regarded but is not mandatory. More important is your caring, passionate and engaging manner, collaborative approach and your ability to lead by example, to deliver efficient patient and family friendly care.

You are dedicated Nurse, passionate about providing excellent care and committed to being an advocate for patients and their families. You are ready to take the next step in your Nursing Career and will revel in a clinical leadership role. You are caring, passionate with an engaging manner, and are excited to play a key role in leading by example to ensure our Surgical Ward is run efficiently. Using your excellent communication skills, you will be able to work closely with a varied team of Health professionals and entities with the sole purpose of delivering exceptional care and leadership at all times.

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in acute Nursing
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Australian working rights
