We are looking for someone special. It takes a blend of fierce compassion and professional grit to provide the best quality support and advocacy for our clients diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

About us:

MND Queensland is a not-for-profit member-based organisation regarded for its longevity, information and support provision, and well-established equipment hire service. We have recently expanded into delivering Support Coordination and allied health services to clients funded through the NDIS. Due to a high demand for our services, we are growing our team to provide MND Advisory and Support Coordination services.

The role:

We support people at a really difficult time in their lives and help ensure that our clients receive vital services when they need them. All of our tasks can make a big impact in a client’s days, and how we do our job can also benefit family members and other close supporters. Specific tasks include:

  • Providing advice and support to people living with MND, as well as their families and carers
  • Planning, referring and negotiating services with people living with MND
  • Supporting NDIS funded clients to meet their defined goals through accessing appropriate services
  • Engaging with NDIA, My Aged Care, Service providers and funded agencies on behalf of clients
  • Occasional regional travel

  • are motivated to make a difference for people with MND
  • have excellent interpersonal skills, especially to discuss sensitive matters such as end-of-life care planning
  • can manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing client needs
  • have demonstrated track record of initiative and working independently, plus as a team contributor

We highly value the following:

  • Experience in the health or disability sector
  • Knowledge of MND and its impacts on an individual and their families and carer
  • Understanding of NDIS and My Aged Care funding streams
  • And/or a proven ability to rapidly acquire health service or relevant knowledge and procedure
