mmvllen

OUR ORGANISATION:

Mmvllen’s purpose is to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people, with a focus on supporting young people experiencing disadvantage, discrimination, social isolation and from low socio-economic backgrounds in the Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley region.

We do this by:

  • Brokering and facilitating strategic partnerships and programs to support sustainable outcomes and address gaps in our community
  • Developing and facilitating collaborative approaches towards planned improvement and provision of education, training and employment
  • Engaging with appropriate stakeholders from education, training, business and industry, community and cultural organisations, government bodies and commissions, to achieve our vision across the community

THE ROLE

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Officer – Youth Employment Pathways Program (YEPP) Facilitator to join the team.

This role will be working directly with young people to develop, design and facilitate youth employment preparation workshops for unemployed or under-employed young people in the North-West metropolitan area of Melbourne.

The new Youth Employment Pathways Program aims to improve employment pathway and transition opportunities for local young people, especially those who may face additional barriers to employment. YEPP will run from March 2024 to May 2025, and will be delivered four times within this period, with each iteration taking place over 6 weeks and engaging 8-12 participants. The program will include a number of workplace preparation workshops, to be facilitated by the YEPP Facilitator, as well as short training courses, industry tours/speakers, industry mentoring and job trials.

The YEPP Facilitator role will be critical in engaging with young people through their entire experience of the YEPP, from referral (or pre-referral) communication through information sessions, followed by onboarding, facilitating program activities, check ins/surveying to completion. We are seeking to ensure the majority of YEPP participants gain employment at the end of the program, through their industry engagement and workplace preparation experiences.

If required, this role will also assist with any wrap-around supports by referring participants to other local agencies and services.

The YEPP Facilitator will work closely with the YEPP Coordinator (0.4EFT) and mmvllen CEO to ensure this program successfully meets its contractual obligations.
