    • Base Pay $102,554.40
    • Up to $6,385.95 in tax-savings via our offered charity salary packaging.
    • $2,820.54 allowances and cash benefits
    • + $11,280.98 Super (11%)

Minus18 is Australia’s charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth. We support LGBTQIA+ young people through events and digital platforms, and provide fee for service LGBTQIA+ inclusion training to schools, businesses and community organisations. Since 2011 over 100,000 young people have engaged in these services across Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, and millions more via digital platforms.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Education Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the Education Department's strategic direction, ensuring alignment with Minus18's overall goals and vision for growth. Leveraging your experience, the Education Manager will guide the team in identifying opportunities for growth and lead projects that align with these strategic objectives.

Initially, the role will focus on reviewing existing ways of working, policies, and practices, recommending enhancements, and spearheading the implementation of necessary changes. The Education Manager will strive to incorporate industry best practices and maintain a quality-first mindset across the Education function, fostering a culture of excellence, quality assurance and continuous improvement as the department grows. Collaboration will be key to the Education Manager's success. They will work closely with all Minus18 teams, educators, administrators, and other stakeholders to gather insights, address challenges, and develop solutions that meet the needs of learners.

By combining strategic vision, operational expertise, and a commitment to quality, the Education Manager will be instrumental in elevating the Education Department and propelling Minus18 towards achieving its strategic goals and fostering sustainable growth in the education sector.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Development

  • Support the development and lead the strategy and planning for the Education Team providing operational and technical guidance.
  • With the support of an Education Designer, lead review, improvement and creation of our content ensuring effectiveness and relevance of training content.
  • Project manage initiatives within your team relating to the improvement of quality, content and expanding our reach.
  • Conceptualise, plan and manage the ongoing development and implementation of new courses, content and services/programs, aligned to curriculum requirements and our strategic objectives
  • Define and implement the annual strategy for our education delivery, development, evaluation, review and innovation
  • Engage with peer organisations and industry experts to continuously improve Minus18’s approach to LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Training.
  • Actively network with potential clients and and connecting possible new leads and opportunities with our Bookings Coordinators
  • Consult and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure offerings are supporting the strategic goals of Minus18.
  • Manage external relationships on projects and deliverables to further digitise and innovate our offerings.
  • Review and approve marketing materials relevant to offerings to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to plan out initiatives with deliverables to reach the goal of growing the reach of our offering
  • Engage with external stakeholders who will support our national expansion

Operational Performance

  • Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships to ensure ongoing engagements.
  • Be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Education & Training services provided by Minus18
  • Curate and lead a team culture of high performance with staff wellbeing being at the forefront.
  • Lead Team planning and regular meetings ensuring action points are identified and followed up on.
  • Create policy, guides and frameworks to ensure the quality and standard of our education delivery is maintained
  • Ensure our education program is operating in respect to budgets, funding and deliverables with a focus on program development and high quality standards.
  • Identify and champion innovative approaches to training and education through robust best practices and further development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Booking Coordinators to ensure presenter capacity and offerings are aligned with the needs of our clients
  • Conduct regular review and provide quality metrics and reporting on training delivery and effectiveness
  • Manage and coach your direct reports providing development opportunities and achieving high levels of performance and service excellence
  • Continuously review, evaluate and recommend elevations of the current business practices within the education team with the aim of process improvement and effectiveness.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

The ideal candidate has:

  • Relevant experience in operational management in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or within the Education & Training Sector
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and completed units compliant with the current standards for RTOs is desirable;
  • Demonstrated organisational, project management and administrative skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to present and manage stakeholder relationships, time management and organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Demonstrated lived experience and understanding of diverse identities within the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Demonstrated passion for Minus18’s mission to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • A successful Police Background Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC) are required for this role. These can be obtained once an offer of employment is made, and before role commencement.
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status.
