Occupational Therapist - Sunshine Coast / Flexible Location

Mindful Men

About Mindful Men

Established in 2022, Mindful Men offers a fresh approach to therapy for boys and men in Australia. We blend lived experience with professional expertise to build authentic and meaningful connections; and we do this by taking therapy out of the clinic and into the community. By joining Mindful Men, you will become part of a growing community that is focussed on improving the health and wellbeing of boys and men.

About The Role

We're looking for a passionate Occupational Therapist (or Mental Health Occupational Therapist), to join our team. This is a part time position (ongoing or contractor), with the potential to job share, or go full-time in the future. You don't have to be male to apply, but must be dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of boys and men.

This position is based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with flexible working options available. Whilst most of our work is completed on the road or at home, a clinical space is available if needed. Our services are provided via telehealth (Australia wide) or in-person between North Brisbane and Gympie and you will need to be able to travel within these areas. We’re also mindful of our team’s wellbeing, and can offer flexibility with work schedules.

You will provide therapy services in-person and via telehealth for NDIS participants. This includes intake, assessments (e.g. functional capacity assessments, assistive technology and home modifications), therapy sessions, case notes and stakeholder meetings. You may also work with other funding schemes and private clients as required.

As a valued member of our team, you may also represent Mindful Men in group programs, events and meetings. Your expertise will help shape our growth, and we look forward to hearing how your ideas can inform our work.

Experience in mental health, disability, addiction, relationships, parenting, and work-related challenges is preferred but not essential.

Note – as a newly created role, you will be the first Occupational Therapist within Mindful Men. Your experience will enable you to hit the ground running, with supervision provided by an external supervisor to continue your professional development.
