Mind Australia is one of the country’s leading community-managed specialist mental health service providers with a range of residential, mobile outreach, centre based and online services. We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
The Community Care Units (CCU) program provides intensive treatment and recovery support in a residential setting (up to two years) to help people stabilise their mental health and gain the skills necessary to move back into the community. Clients are provided care by a 24/7 clinical team and Mind staff who focus on supporting development of social and daily living skills as well as building confidence to live independently.
We have a permanent, part time (30 hours per week) opportunity for a resilient, empathetic Community Mental Health Practitioner to work active night shifts (4 days on, 4 days off) on a 24/7 rotating roster in the Cairns area. You be integral in delivering person-centred, recovery oriented supports to clients and ensuring identified goals and aspirations align with the individual’s recovery plans.
