Minda Assist Therapy (MAT) is a multi-disciplinary team that provides professional assessment and support for people with disability who receive a service or are supported by Minda.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic growing team.  The Speech Pathologist will undertake speech therapy assessment, intervention and evaluation, provide recommendations and therapy that impact positively on a person’s ability to participate in their daily activities.

Key skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Experience working in a NDIS Environment
  • Leading and developing the Speech Therapy discipline with communication expertise
  • Undertake speech pathology assessment, intervention and evaluation, providing recommendations and therapy that impact positively on a person’s ability to participate in their daily activities, allowing them to communicate, make decisions about their environment and their lives, and interact within this.
  • Ensure adherence to the Speech Pathology Australia registration standards, codes and guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Practice Standards.
  • Provide professional/clinical supervision, support and oversight to developing clinicians.
  • Being able to provide a high standard of support to a person with disability using multi-disciplinary and collaborative approaches
  • Experience assessing, developing, implementing and providing training/education for adult clients requiring low/high tech AAC
  • Willingness to mentor others and facilitate the education and management of the Speech Pathology team to expand their knowledge and skillset around adult focussed AAC
  • Understanding and/or experience of the adult disability sector and the NDIS would be preferred
  • The ability to consider duty of care whilst respecting the rights of a person with disability to make choices and decisions for their own lives
  • Provision of a high standard of support to a person with disability using multi-disciplinary and collaborative approaches.

Key Requirements of the role:

  • DHS Disability Employment Clearance
  • South Australian Drivers Licence
  • First Aid certificate
  • Membership of Speech Pathology Australia or willingness/ability to join prior to commencement

This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis; however, we also welcome applications from candidates looking for part-time hours as this role could be offered on a job share arrangement.
