The Mill House Ventures Limited is the leading social enterprise development organisation in the Canberra Region. Established in 2018, it supports the development of sustainable and financially viable social enterprises that trade to deliver public and community benefits. Mill House provides social enterprises with the capability, investment, and resources to start-up, access markets and grow.

The Role

The ideal candidate to lead will be an eager and self-motivated individual who is highly detail-oriented and meticulous in coordination, time-management, process and service delivery. We are looking for someone who comfortable working in a dynamic but small 'start-up' with strong innovation, communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. The ability to prioritise work while managing multiple tasks, stakeholders and projects will be useful in this role.

This role spans two areas: Operational support for the CEO and the Engagement of new social innovators into our program streams.

Digital Engagement:

  • Meet with social innovators to qualify their needs and suitability for engagement with Mill House via the Clinic, Accelerator or as a mentor
  • Support the Mill House Clinic and Social Enterprise Accelerator Program managers with relevant tasks to improve the efficiency of team functions.
  • Driving interactions with the different target groups by improving the attractiveness of social media channels
  • Organising campaigns and developing marketing strategies
  • Analyse feedback to improve organisational functions
  • Create and compose content for the organisation’s social media platforms

Operations Management:

  • Work in partnership with the CEO to operationalise strategic intent
  • Operational management – HR, IT, Finance, Compliance & Space Management
  • Manage operations delivery team (external contracts for ICT, Bookkeeping, Audit/Accounting, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of annual work plan
  • Assist in the development of Annual budget
  • Assist in the design and implementation of business strategies and procedures
  • Working with Mill House Members and funders to ensure financial management and reporting
  • Stakeholder relationship management and engagement
  • Other duties as directed
