About the program

Wellways Australia is the first point of contact for all Australian Government Carer Gateway funded services in South West Sydney and across Queensland, aiming to help carers access practical information and advice and connect with services in their local area. Carer supports and services will be delivered using a network of local Carer Gateway regional service providers Carers and those who provide a caring role to someone in their life who has a disability, mental health issue, chronic health condition, terminal illness or are frail aged. Carer Gateway services will be available to all carers from 6 April 2020.

About the role

Be part of an exciting new era for the delivery of innovative carer services by coordinating the development, implementation and ongoing delivery of the Carer Coaching and In-Person Peer Support programs that are part of the Carer Gateway Services.

Key responsibilities include, however are not limited to:

  • Recruit, lead and oversee a team of Coaches and Peer Educators delivering programs to Carers
  • Engage with a diversity of stakeholders to ensure the Carer Coaching and In-person Peer Support Programs are available to all carers within the service area
  • Deliver CC&IPPS (Carer Coaching and In-person Peer Support) programs in line with DSS and Wellways guidelines
  • Ensure that CC&IPPS service delivery targets are met within your service delivery area

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in Psychosocial Education/Coaching and/or Peer-Led Program
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate a mobile workforce
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including consortium partners
  • Previous team leadership experience
  • An understanding and demonstrated commitment to social inclusion and diversity
