Community Mental Health Worker - Therapeutic Groups

We are recruiting a Community Mental Health Worker to work within the Therapeutic Services program. The Community Mental Health Worker will work in a dual-role; the main duties will be to support the Team Leader and team members with administrative and procedural tasks, other duties will include working in a co-facilitator role within Therapeutic Groups.

The administrative component of the role may include:

  • Support to manage waitlists
  • Supporting participant on-boarding and service commencement processes
  • Data collection and entry
  • Liaison with team members to support process improvements
  • Liaison with teams across Skylight to support back-end work processes

The Co-facilitation component of the role may include:

  • Supporting the design and development of groups
  • Liaising with participants to complete pre-group documentation
  • Co-facilitation of groups alongside a lead facilitator
  • Solution-focused, brief 1:1 support of participants during and after group sessions
  • Participation in individual and group supervision

Requirements for Success

  • A tertiary qualification in Counselling (or evidence of current enrolment)
  • (Desirable) a minimum of three years’ experience in counselling or therapeutic health services in Australia
  • (Desirable) current and full registration with ACA or PACFA (or student registration)
  • Excellent high level communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Demonstrated ability for self-reflection and self-awareness
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and in a solution-focused manner
  • Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative functions
  • Knowledge of and alignment with Person-Centred, Trauma-Informed, and Recovery-based approaches
  • Current SA Drivers Licence; DHS Working With Children check and NDIS Worker Check

The role is classified at SCHADS Level 4 and will be predominantly based at Skylight Wayville, servicing multiple office sites and areas of the South Australian metropolitan region.
