The role

Reporting to the Director, External Relations, this full-time position is responsible for engaging with Mental Health Australia's membership and other stakeholders, ensuring that stakeholder views are reflected in Mental Health Australia's advocacy, and identifying opportunities and risks associated with Mental Health Australia's internal, sector-specific and public communications. In addition, this position manages Mental Health Australia's CRM database and specific projects as required by the Director of External Relations.

We are seeking a person with:

  • Exceptional relationship management experience
  • Experience in implementing a range of activities to cultivate and build relationships with members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work within an advocacy and community development framework
  • Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and/or at least 5 years' related experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, facilitation and negotiating skills, including the ability to effectively consult and liaise with people of diverse backgrounds in the community
  • Experience representing or advocating on behalf of stakeholders or members
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining all office/electronic files and CRM systems associated with membership and stakeholder relations
