The Public Health Nutritionist/Dietitian role is responsible for delivering dietetic and nutrition support to chronic disease, aged care and NDIS clients in the Miwatj region across East Arnhem Land. There are two x full time fixed-term positions available until 30 June 2025, based in Darwin or East Arnhem Land with regular travel required to MHAC health centres located across East Arnhem Land.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
The Public Health Nutritionist/Dietitian will be responsible for providing best practice clinical and culturally responsive dietetic services, deliver public health nutrition activities and assist with projects in line with the Miwatj Food Security and Nutrition Strategy 2020-2024, and provide expert advice and contribute to the professional development for Miwatj’s employees. Candidates must have a tertiary qualification in nutrition and dietetics and current Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status with Dietitians Australia (DA). They will also have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by people living in remote settings.
