Join a dedicated team supporting over 35,000 graduate students
The Monash Graduate Association (MGA) is the representative body for graduate students at Monash University. We support and represent more than 35,000 graduate students across multiple campuses through advocacy and migration services, events, engagement programs, policy and research.
We are a values-driven, student-focused organisation committed to inclusion, collaboration and positive student outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader to lead one of MGA's most important student support services.
As Advocacy Manager, you will lead a dedicated team delivering advocacy and migration services that help graduate students navigate academic, administrative and migration matters. Working with students during some of the most challenging moments of their university journey, your team plays a vital role in helping students understand their options, resolve issues and achieve positive outcomes.
Reporting to the Executive Officer, you will provide day-to-day operational leadership of the Advocacy and Migration Services team, ensuring services are responsive, high-quality and student-centred. You will supervise and support professional staff, oversee complex casework, monitor service demand and workloads, contribute to continuous service improvement and build productive relationships with University stakeholders.
If you're passionate about leading people, improving services and making a meaningful difference to students' lives, we'd love to hear from you.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in higher education, advocacy, community services, legal, migration, government or another professional service environment will be highly regarded.
At the MGA, you'll be part of a collaborative and student-focused organisation dedicated to improving the graduate student experience across Monash University.
We offer a supportive team environment, flexible workplace culture and the opportunity to lead a service that makes a genuine difference to students' lives.
The role operates across multiple campuses, and regular travel between campuses is an inherent requirement of the position.
Some evening and weekend work may be required to support student engagement activities and organisational initiatives.
