Your new role

  • The AHA with assist the HARP Cardiac and Respiratory clinicians to provide optimal care to client group in accordance with best practice guidelines and will responsible for:
  • Under clinical supervision - assist clinicians with various duties at exercise groups, Home exercise as well as pre/post rehabilitation assessments. This includes organisation of assessment times, setting up the room space and communication with clients.
  • Under the supervision of Physiotherapists and Nurses, monitor patient’s response to exercise by observation, monitoring client oxygen and heart rates , and provide practical assistance to clients as require.
  • Maintenance, ordering and monitoring of equipment.
  • Administrative duties include set up rooms faxing, photocopying, checking and updating resources and client information and enter patient data into all data
  • Assist with respiratory clinic as directed, including set up of clinic room and follow up as required backgrounds

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Certificate III (Allied Health Assistance) or higher from a registered training organisation or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficient IT skills, knowledge of Word, Excel and navigating databases
  • A commitment to Merri Health values and philosophy, and ability to engage in the enhancement of Merri Health culture in meeting organisational objectives.
  • An ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds
