ABOUT THE ROLE:

A unique opportunity to join a dynamic, friendly and proactive team as Forensic Clinical Specialist in either a full time or part time capacity at Mercy Mental Health.

  • Two permanent positions either full or part time exist (1.2EFT) for this role
  • Provide specialist advice and secondary consultation across both clinical and non-clinical mental health services for patients with a forensic history/risk of offending within their organisation
  • Provide a key contact point for justice/forensic referrers
  • Based at Saltwater Clinic Footscray working across all Mercy Mental Health Site

ABOUT YOU:

  • Approved degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Nursing.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014, Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried Act 1997, Sentencing Act 1991, and other relevant legislation.
  • A sound knowledge of the criminal justice system and other relevant community based services.
  • Holds a current Victorian driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of evidence-base risk assessment and management tools Practices under a Recovery Orientated Mental Health Service Framework.
  • Demonstrated experience with skill in working as a senior member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
