MHCC ACT is looking for a dynamic communications professional to continue developing our communications activities, and coordinate Mental Health Month activities, events and promotion.

MHCC ACT is the peak body for community based mental health service providers. This sector covers the range of non-government organisations (NGO) that offer recovery, early intervention, prevention, NDIS, health promotion and community support services for people with a mental illness and psychosocial disability. Our aim is to foster the capacity of these organisations to support people to live a meaningful and dignified life.

Reporting to the Executive Officer, this role is critical to planning, developing and implementing communications activities and promotion of our work and brand. The role also coordinates Mental Health Month, including a grants program, calendar of activities, and key events (Expo, Awards & Launch), with the support of the Mental Health Month Committee.

The position requires excellent communication skills, social media skills, event management skills, and the ability to exercise effective judgement to prioritise tasks.​

The ideal candidate

You will be a dynamic and enthusiastic communications professional with proven success in planning and implementing communications strategies, as well as experience in event management. The ideal candidate will be highly organised and have excellent team work and time management skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities, and build strong working relationships with stakeholders.

The right candidate will be self-motivated and autonomous, comfortable switching between strategic thinking and routine tasks, and able to manage peaks in workload. You will have good interpersonal skills and be comfortable liaising with a variety of stakeholders.
