The Opportunity

We are seeking a vibrant, positive person to join our immunisation team. Must be enthusiastic, adaptable, able to work independently and also in a team environment.

The position requires persons with highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and a capacity to relate effectively to a diverse range of families, communities and professionals in a constantly changing environment.

Minimum qualifications, current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and current accreditation as a Nurse Immuniser. Highly desired, experience in community immunisation programs.

Hours of work include 15.2 hours per week; Tuesday 12:09pm - 8:15pm & Thursday 8:00am to 4:06pm. Hours may be flexible as they are roster based.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines with informed consent to infants, children, adolescents and adults at immunisation sessions
  • Provide appropriate pre and post immunisation advice and care to parents, guardians and adult clients
  • Develop and administer catch up schedules for overdue clients as required.
  • Transport and manage the storage of vaccines prior to, at and in transit to and from immunisation venues, observing correct cold chain parameters at all times.
  • Monitor the emergency kit and lead the management of any acute reaction.
  • Ensure that all sharps and immunisation wastes are managed safely and within guidelines.
  • Accurately record and collate data from all sources for the purpose of maintaining accurate medical records.
