Melanoma Patients Australia is an independent, national not for profit charitable organisation founded in 2006 by patients for patients. Support is provided by offering access to trusted, nurse-led telehealth services, peer support programs, and targeted resources.
We provide complementary practical and compassionate support for anyone impacted by melanoma; this includes patients, survivors and carers. Through our support, we provide a suite of resources, services and specialised clinical expertise which offer evidence-based tailored information in relation to diagnosis, treatment, symptom management and emotional wellbeing.

Under the direction of the Melanoma Telehealth Nurse Manager, the Specialist Melanoma Nurse is required to provide evidence-based information, education and support at a comprehensive level, relating to key transition points across the patient pathway from the point of diagnosis. In alignment with our Model of Care, the Specialist Melanoma Nurse works closely with the Melanoma Nurse Navigator, the Melanoma Nurse Counsellor and the wider Melanoma Patients Australia team to provide high-quality telehealth support to melanoma patients, their carers, and families through phone and video consultations.
Operating autonomously and without in person supervision from your own home, this role involves delivering evidence-based information, education, and support throughout key transition points in the melanoma care pathway. The Specialist Melanoma Nurse will facilitate internal and external referrals, effectively communicate between tertiary and primary care clinicians to ensure the best patient outcomes and conduct individual and group support sessions.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to educational resources, maintaining accurate records and data, promoting services, and participating in organisational programs, projects, and quality assurance practices.
Please note: This role does not involve providing medical treatment, clinical advice, or formal counselling.
Occasional domestic travel will be required to fulfil the requirements of this position.
The Specialist Melanoma Nurse is a 12-month contract position (with potential opportunity for contract extension) that is currently funded under the Australian Cancer Nursing & Navigation Program. The Specialist Melanoma Nurse will be an integral member of our national nursing team fulfilling a key patient support role to ensure Melanoma Patients Australia is able to deliver on a range of important grant funded services until 30 June 2027.

This is a fully remote work from home role. Applicants must have facilities to enable working from home.
