The Macedonian Community Welfare Association Inc. (MCWA) has been providing services to the Macedonian community since the early 1980s. The organisation is governed by a Board of Directors, that are elected according to the requirements set out in our Constitution. The organisation operates at a state level and head office is located in Maribyrnong, 3032, VIC.

The current services provided to the ageing Macedonian and the broader CALD communities, people living with disabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Home Care Packages
  • Social Support Groups - Community 
  • Multicultural Social Support Groups - Community
  • Specialised Support Services / Access and Support Services
  • Community Visitor Scheme
  • HACC PYP - Social Support Programs
  • NDIS Registered Provider
  • Complete Care Program
  • Healthy Ageing
  • Other home based support services for seniors and people living with disabilities in partnership with relevant community organisations

About the role

This position will deliver quality and compliance to the organisation that ensures MCWA embeds the ACQ standards 1-8 in the organisation. In addition this role will provide high specialist advice, actions, reports and support to the Board of Directors and the Managing Director specifically in relation to the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Responsibilities for this position include however, are not limited to:

  • Evaluation of the organisation's Aged Care Quality Standard 8
  • Evaluation of the organisation's Aged Care Quality Standards 1-7
  • Identify and close gaps in the requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards 1-8
  • Provide high specialist risk management, assurance and compliance advice to the Board of Directors and the Managing Director
  • Support, development and maintenance of a Risk and Assurance Management Framework
  • Support, development and maintenance of effective Business Continuity arrangements
  • Preparation of Board and Management reports in relation to strategic and operational risk registers
  • Development and implementation of risk policies and procedures
  • Update, develop and maintenance of all organisation's policies and procedures in line with the current Aged Care requirements, Workplace requirements and Strategic operations of the organisation
  • Ensure MCWA is ready for the Aged Care Quality audit
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and the Board of Directors in evaluation of current gaps in the Finance governance and selection of auditing requirements and specialists
  • Any other support as required

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Compliance, Risk, Quality or a related field.
  • Previous proven experience in a similar role is desired
  • A strong understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards is required
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English language
  • Highly analytical and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Understanding of Macedonian language would be an advantage
  • Drivers license
