The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Project Officer to join the Policy & Equity team.

A key part of your role will be working on managing project responsibilities relevant to the Raising Children Network (RCN) Digital Mental Health project.

The project is part of Murdoch Children’s Research Institute’s Child Mental Health Strategy that aims to drive awareness and action on child mental health across multiple sectors, helping to move the focus from treating established problems to building resilience and early detection and intervention.

As our new senior project officer you will be working with a project team to manage all the deliverables identified in the project workplan and agreement with the Australian Government Department of Health.

You have excellent communications skills with a proven ability to build rapport and engagement with a variety of stakeholders as this role will see you work with Digital Mental Health project co-leads, the project steering group, Raising Children Network senior managers and technology vendors.

You will support the Policy & Equity team but also have the ability to lead projects relating to Murdoch Children’s Research Institute’s Child Mental Health Strategy when needed.

You are flexible, positive and focused, having worked on similar projects managing competing priorities and expectations. Your agile approach and understanding of adaptability when working on projects in the research space will see you succeed in this role.

You have sound project experience, and are well versed in delivering and implementing project deliverables using a variety of project management methodologies (e.g. agile approach, design thinking, user-centred delivery).

Ideally you have worked in the NFP space, and are confident with using digital products (websites, applications) in a healthcare setting.

You are solution focused and innovative, thinking outside the box to see the bigger picture to develop, plan and implement our key deliverables.

You are passionate about the value you will bring to the role but also to children’s mental health.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • limited supervision to deliver project in a timely manner
  • Collaborates with RCN to conduct gap analysis and quality assessment of mental health content on RCN
  • Liaises with the RCN Lead Manager content team to coordinate the production, compilation and translation of new mental health content and subject matter expertise to address information gaps on RCN
  • Facilitates and leads internal and external meetings/workshops with stakeholder groups to achieve project outcomes with limited support (e.g. Department of Health, parents/consumers, technology development vendor, expert advisory group)
  • Reviews content relating to the project for quality assurance and leads critical analysis for reporting
  • Independently and proactively leads the preparation of content related to the project for publication in scientific peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations
  • Develops and pilots methods/protocols and leads on decision making
  • Develops the structure and content for project reports independently from draft to final stage under supervision e.g. to funding body Department of Health, Raising Children Network Board of Directors and others as required
  • Contributes to the supervision of Project Assistants/Officers as required

You Demonstrate:

  • Masters/PhD qualification in relevant field (e.g. medicine, health sciences, psychology, nursing)
  • An appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
  • Experience in project management from developing project plans and bringing a project to fruition within budget and within the agreed time frame
  • Experience developing technology products in a healthcare setting (e.g. websites, applications)
  • Experience using innovative project management methodologies (e.g. agile approach, design thinking, user-centred delivery)
  • Experience in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects
  • Experience in navigating and negotiating with multiple organisations and professional groups within a project management framework
  • Demonstrates advanced facilitation skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in knowledge sharing, development, mentoring and support of employees and students
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience communicating to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrates independent judgement and initiative

On Offer:

  • 12 Full time month contract
  • Salary Range $94,449 -102,240 pa + super + salary packaging
