The Opportunity

As our Generation Victoria (GenV) Data Linkage Coordinator, you will be working with the GenV team to coordinate data linkage from consented research data and create meaningful impact on child health and development locally and internationally. GenV is a world-first initiative aiming to transform the whole of the State of Victoria into a single dynamic health and solutions platform, breaking down barriers in research to solve pressing questions and translating that into tangible actions that can improve the health, development and well-being of children and their parents.

A key part of your role will see you work with key stakeholders to continue developing and implementing GenV’s Data Linkage Strategy, timelines and methodology.

You will have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills with a proven ability to influence and facilitate consensus with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including researchers, data custodians, data linkage authorities and government departments.

To succeed in this role you will be experienced working with data linkage units and data custodians, understand data linkage and data management principles, be able to work independently as well as working constructively within a team environment and have excellent time management and multitasking skills.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, socialise and communicate the Data Linkage Strategy with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage GenV’s Data Linkage Working Group (an expert working group comprising internal and external stakeholders)
  • Facilitate engagement and relationships between GenV and relevant stakeholders to understand the data linkage authorising environment
  • Work with GenV’s Senior Legal Counsel and Cohort team to test and implement the most robust and future-proofed consent process that aligns with GenV’s principles of low burden, inclusivity and value
  • Work with the GenV teams so the teams can determine feasibility and inform the technical specifications for data linkage activities
  • Coordinate governance and access frameworks to inform data partnerships and data sharing agreements/processes
  • Identify barriers and develop appropriate data access and governance processes addressing these risks
  • Work to implement data linkage at scale, prioritising GenV’s priority datasets

You Demonstrate:

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. IT, health informatics, data science / management, law)
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Proven ability to influence others and facilitate reaching consensus among a range of different stakeholders from different backgrounds and within different sectors
  • Proven experience working with data linkage units and data custodians
  • Familiarity with the data linkage landscape at service, State and Federal level

Desirable

  • Understanding of legislation relevant to the secondary use of data, including sensitive and health related information
  • Proven success in process improvement, overcoming roadblocks to achieve change
  • Familiarity with child and family health and development
  • Use of data linkage outputs to inform government and stakeholder policies and reforms
  • Experience in project management or co-ordination
  • Experience in engaging with and collaborating with government personnel
  • Experience working on complex projects with a data component

On Offer

  • 2 year full time contract
  • Salary Range $85,599 - $102,240 pa + super + salary packaging
