More about the role:
We're looking for a hands-on communications professional, responsible for driving proactive PR, delivering impactful campaigns and securing high-quality earned media to elevate the McGrath Foundation's voice and purpose.
Main responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of integrated PR and communications strategies that effectively promote the Foundation’s priorities, programs and impact
- Playing a central role in managing the Foundation’s press office, including development and execution of the PR calendar, proactive media pitching, responding to media enquiries, and managing the communications inbox
- Leading and supporting the execution of key PR campaigns from concept through to delivery and evaluation
- Developing high-quality communications materials, ensuring all outputs are consistent with the Foundation’s tone of voice, messaging and brand
- Supporting in briefing spokespeople, including developing briefing notes for media opportunities with key messages and talking points to ensure they are on message across media engagements and public appearances
- Identifying and developing compelling stories and media angles across health, lifestyle, news and trade media
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, producers and key media stakeholders across regional, metro and national outlets
- Sourcing case studies and developing authentic, impactful content
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting on PR performance, including media coverage, campaign outcomes and insights for continuous improvement
- Upholding and promoting the Foundation’s reputation as an ethical, responsible and trusted charity in all external communications
What you bring to the role:
Proven communications and PR professional with experience in agency or in-house environments, delivering impactful media campaigns from strategy through to execution. Exceptional storytelling, writing and stakeholder engagement skills, with a strong track record of securing earned media coverage across regional, metro and national outlets. Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and identify compelling audience-focused opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
