We are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate to act as a specialist therapeutic consultant and practitioner. The Therapeutic Specialist is an integral member of the Permanency Support Program (PSP) reporting directly to Therapeutic Specialist Team Leader. In this role you will act as a therapeutic consultant and practitioner, working in partnership with Permanency Case Managers (PCMs) and Team Leaders to deliver therapeutically enriched care to children. This work will centralise around the formulation and delivery of individualised Behaviour Support Plans developed in accordance with Out-of-Home -Care policy. The Plans will be informed through input from the child’s wider Therapeutic Care Team which will meet each school term under your facilitation. You will be responsible for providing therapeutic support to the carers and other members of the care team, as well as the delivery of training about attachment and trauma to PCMs, Team Leaders, carers and other stakeholders. You will also provide direct therapeutic work with children where appropriate.
Regular travel across the Southern and Murrumbidgee DCJ Districts within NSW and the ACT is a requirement of this role. It is likely this support will occur outside of core business hours at times.
