Marymead is a well-respected, community-based, not-for-profit organisation that has provided a range of support services to children, young people and their families since 1967. Marymead now operates throughout the southern and western regional areas of NSW as well as the ACT with offices in Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Young, Moruya, and Canberra. Marymead is now searching for an experienced team leader to lead and drive a new project in the Youth mental health space!

About the Team Leader position

Marymead are now working on an exciting new project in conjunction with ACT Health and the Office for Mental Health and Wellbeing to develop a dedicated online portal for children and young people to access mental health support and resources. Set to launch later this year, this unique model will provide an integrated source of information and easy access points for children and young people experiencing mental health challenges.

As the Team Leader during the development of the portal, you will be responsible for content review and development, contributing to the development of new procedures, participating in the testing of the Portal as well as recruitment, induction and training of new service delivery staff. You will have clinical leadership and line management responsibilities, as well as accountability for some direct service delivery. Once the portal goes live, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the service, providing leadership to team members, direct service delivery, monitoring progress and supporting service delivery staff with the complexities of delivering the service.

The Portal will be operational between midday and 11pm, Monday to Sunday. The core hours for the Youth Portal Team Leader position will span across Monday to Sunday with work hours and the potential to work from home to be negotiated with the successful applicant. This position is a full-time or part-time contract until June 2023 with the possibility of extension.

To be successful for this position you will possess:

  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or equivalent;
  • Registration as psychologist, social worker, counsellor or equivalent;
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People Clearance and NSW Working with Children Check;
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing teams with proven leadership skills;
  • Knowledge of early intervention for mental health and trauma-informed care and practice
  • Experience with Salesforce and Penelope would be advantageous
