The role:

Make-A-Wish is seeking an ambitious and motivated professional to join the team as a New Partnerships Specialist. This exciting role will utilise your passion to secure new corporate partnerships, thereby making more Wishes possible. You will bring with you a hunger to identify, cultivate and develop new partnerships in the corporate space. You will have the ability to demonstrate the unique value that Make-A-Wish offers its corporate partners and the ability to show the impact the organisation is making. 

Reporting to the Head of New Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing and nurturing strategic, creative and high-value partnerships with corporations with a core focus on increasing net income and yield for Make-A-Wish. In this phase of acquisition, you will work with our partners on a number of initiatives including event sponsorships, volunteering and other engagement opportunities and Wish Workshops to provide unique value to our partners. 

You will bring a passion for giving, exceptional relationship management, organisational and influencing skills. You will have sound commercial acumen and the desire to build new partnerships. This exciting opportunity will enable you to play a critical role in making more wishes possible for children in Australia.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Spearhead individual approaches to/negotiations with assigned corporations with support from the team as appropriate
  • Ability to negotiate multi-year partnership proposals
  • Conceptualise and deliver a range of creative marketing-led campaigns with major corporations that embody the values and brand essence of Make-A-Wish
  • Actively participate in prospect mapping and segmentation specifically relating to corporations
  • Take ownership of the prospect pipeline, ensuring that market potential is maximised and that relationships are continually progressed through the pipeline to deliver significant income growth and high yield/return on investment (ROI)
  • Ensure that prospects and partners are selected and managed in accordance with prescribed risk management policies and frameworks
  • Ensure that prospects and partners are cultivated and stewarded in accordance with prescribed policies and processes
  • Work with the team to keep abreast of campaign or partnership activity with a view to strong retention of current partners, pro-active renewal of accounts, and growth of existing relationships
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects, outcomes for partners, achieve results and have a positive impact on the Make-A-Wish team culture

Qualifications, Skills and Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience in securing and building corporate partnerships
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong work ethic, self-driven and proactive
  • The ability to establish rapport and build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to identify stakeholder needs; what they value and how to motivate and communicate with them
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and across teams, as well as the ability to work independently
