MRC was established in 2008 and its area covers our 13 major remote communities as well as many outstations. MRC employs over 500 staff, 370 of whom are the local Aboriginal staff.

The Role

The Coordinator Learning and Development reports directly to Manager Human Resources. This role is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of MRC's Workforce Development Plan, and creating relevant opportunities for MRC staff members.

Key Duties:

  • Identify and recommend areas of improvement in Learning and Development activities, services and policies
  • Develop and facilitate relevant "in-house" training sessions
  • Coordinate and optimise the employer incentives for engaging in Nationally Recognised Training
  • Facilitate the implementation of workforce development projects, such as traineeships and annual review process
  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of a corporate training plan and budget
  • Prepare reports on training effectiveness
  • Participate as an active member of HR leadership team

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in administering an online Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Tertiary qualifications (degree level) in relevant discipline or significant experience in the area of training and development
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal/external clients
  • Lateral thinking and ability to adapt change effectively
