The wellbeing of our service users and staff is core to our operations and we're looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team in a part time capacity.

Reporting directly to the Executive Manager People and Culture, this role is responsible for raising the profile of volunteering at Lutheran Care. It's a people-facing role where you will ensure that suitable volunteers are attracted, recruited and trained for their volunteering role and that their experience is a positive and rewarding one.

It is a diverse position that combines administration, coordination, training, event planning. There is even a small amount of social media marketing to enable us to build our profile and attract volunteers to the organisation. You will visit our various sites and work directly with volunteers, building strong relationships based on respect and trust.

We are looking for a person with:

  • Previous experience in coordinating volunteer programs.
  • The ability to recruit, select, train, supervise and support volunteers within a community setting.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to work well with culturally and linguistically diverse people.
  • Highly developed negotiation/conflict resolution and effective listening skills.
  • The ability to work with a wide range of community representatives and groups.
  • Good planning, organisational skills and an ability to prioritise a diverse workload.
  • Good computing skills, especially word processing, email and file management and database management.
  • A full drivers licence and your own mode of transport.
