Lives Lived Well is a leading support organisation for people who have problems with alcohol and drugs as well as other addictions such as gambling and associated mental health issues. We provide support services including residential rehabilitation and community counselling in more than 40 locations across Queensland and NSW.

Our Team

The Gambling Intervention service provides targeted support to our current AOD clients who are identified as having co-existing gambling concerns. We are looking for a passionate individual to deliver bio-psychosocial individual counselling and case management to our existing AOD Clients identified with a comorbid gambling concerns.

About the Opportunity

This position is a 6 month contract, working part-time for 3 days per week, providing telehealth to clients. You will be able to work from home to undertake this position. You will be part of a team with colleagues located in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Mackay.

Working with current LLW AOD Clients with comorbid gambling issues, you will:

  • Provide high quality engagement, assessment and support services to AOD and Gambling clients, and their families
  • Manage a case load of clients providing clinical support, service coordination, referral and advocacy to assist client in achieving their goals
  • Provide pre- and post-rehabilitation support and relapse prevention planning
  • Develop and deliver group programs
  • Provide specialist Gambling intervention advice and support

The base salary range for this role is $37.54 to $44.89 per hour. Your remuneration will be negotiated based on your skills and experience in AOD and Gambling.

About You

The successful applicant will posses the following skills and experience:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in social work, counselling or mental health (or related discipline) or demonstrated significant experience in AOD and Gambling and currently studying towards a tertiary qualification
  2. Applied knowledge in contemporary evidence based AOD and gambling counselling practice, case management and intake and assessment
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working with clients with problematic gambling behaviours
  4. Experience and understanding of working with AOD and Gambling comorbidities
  5. Experience in developing and delivering education programs and group facilitation.
