About the Role

The Team Leader - Rostering is a critical role in the effective and sustainable management of the Disability workforce. The role coordinates the rostering team to organise and allocate work and provides higher level advice and support to Rostering Officers.

The incumbent monitors, reviews and manages work completed by Roster Officers and as required and oversees work by coordinating and optimising the available workforce; supervising and utilising the rostering and scheduling systems to best meet customer requirements and to promote a sustainable workforce.

The incumbent uses strong interpersonal skills to build confidence and trust of customers and promotes our workers’ capacity, capability and loyalty. The incumbent will also support and participate, where required in project related activities within the wider Business Support & Customer Relationships team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with managers to develop and implement strategic and operational plans to manage and improve rostering
  • Lead the Roster Team across end to end management of the roster function to ensure compliance in accordance with the relevant industrial instrument, legislation, rostering, health and safety and business requirements
  • Monitor, review and manage systems and processes to support effective and optimal teamwork distribution
  • Ensure end of pay period activities, including checks and reconciliation have been completed by rostering and operational staff
  • Monitor and audit rosters and schedules developed to ensure support is delivered to participants that reflects NDIS plans, service agreements and are in accordance with relevant business principles, legislation and agreements
  • Where required, monitor planned rosters and schedules, NDIS plans, service agreements, customer feedback and complaints, to resolve issues and channelling any action required to the relevant team members

Skills & Experience  

  • Certificate III or Diploma in administration / business studies or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workforce management principles, health and safety, industrial instruments and roster optimisation
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated coordination and / or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice and support to management and/or staff on roster related matters
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of rostering systems or tools
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
