Remote / Work from Home
Every day, Life Without Barriers provides support and care to children and young people, as we work collaboratively with families, carers, and communities, to ensure they have the environment they deserve to grow. With a focus on ensuring safety and respect, this is an opportunity to make a positive and meaningful difference in these young lives and help pave a brighter future.
Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose organisation of 8,000 employees working in more than 500 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers. Join a community of people dedicated to breaking down barriers.
We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to lead and support the delivery of our National After-Hours Service. The National After-Hours Service is a newly created function to support our Child, Youth and Family (CYF) programs nationally outside of standard business hours.
The service has been created to ensure the ongoing delivery of quality programs and services to CYF clients, allowing residential care and family based care services the ability to access management support 24/7.
As such, this role requires an after-hours work roster with hours starting in the afternoon/evening until 12am and then on call until 9am (these hours may vary but always with a focus on providing support in an out of hours capacity to our service delivery team).
Weekend work will be part of the rostered rotation with other senior management staff.
The role will be responsible for the management of budgets, human resources, stakeholder relationships and reputation. The incumbent will provide leadership to a team of After-Hours Managers, focusing on client safety, quality, standards, and ensure that contractual and legislative requirements are met.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and provide subject matter expertise to guide and be a point of escalation to after-hours Practitioners to meet the needs and requirements of CYF teams across jurisdictions.
This role will be key to supporting the management of critical emerging issues as they occur and the incumbent must have strong knowledge of both child protection legislation across multiple Australian jurisdictions to facilitate high quality after-hours responses.
Please note: To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption certificate. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Checks.
Include your resume and covering letter in one document, click ‘Apply’ and follow the prompts.
