About the Role

Working as a Casual or Permanent Part Time Disability Support Worker within our Supported Independent Living team in the Sydney Eastern Suburbs, you will be providing support to clients with disability by assisting them to live independently and achieve their individual goals.

The successful applicant will have previous experience working with complex healthcare needs including personal care, mobility assistance, feeding regimes and individual support plans. The ideal candidate will also be available for shifts that last 3-10 hours across a 24/7 roster; this includes active night shifts and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans and health care plans
• Encourage clients to perform daily living tasks
• Participate in community activities within a Supported Independent Living environment
• Maintain and monitor a client’s person-centred plan
• Identify and support a range of learning opportunities for our clients
• Track and document an individual’s progress through note keeping 

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
• A valid First Aid Certificate
• A current NSW Driver’s Licence
• The ability to work flexibly around a 24/7 roster, including active night shifts
• The confidence to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality
• Commitment to supporting and promoting the individual growth of our clients
• Experience supporting people with disability
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
