Lifestart is an Early Childhood Partner, delivering the NDIS Early Childhood Approach across the Illawarra Shoalhaven. We currently have a Team Leader position available on a Full-Time Maximum-Term basis until 30 June 2026.

As a Team Leader, you will be focused on the NDIS Early Childhood Approach, leading, coaching and supporting the team, sharing your expertise and technical knowledge, and ensuring effective service delivery to children with disability, developmental concerns or developmental delays, and their families/carers. This role also has a small caseload. The ability to travel across the region is required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and team management, fostering a positive, agile, and collaborative work environment, including with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Senior Managers and other leaders and departments to streamline processes and enhance the overall Early Childhood Approach program effectiveness.
  • Oversee case allocation distribution, ensuring equitable case assignment and efficient utilisation of resources.
  • Set and monitor performance by providing training, mentoring, and supervision to team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and competencies including acknowledging and recognising achievements.
  • Conduct regular reviews of service delivery standards, protocols, and documentation to ensure compliance with NDIS and Lifestart guidelines and best practice standards.
  • Implement and uphold quality assurance measures to ensure that your Team meets NDIS and Lifestart targets and benchmarks and continuous improvement.
  • Provide site and risk management oversight, identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities including offsite Monitoring, and Working in Multi-Environments

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Degree qualified in Allied Health, Early Childhood Teaching, Child Development, Social Sciences (or similar)
  • Management qualification or demonstrated leadership or managerial experience, preferably in the community sector.
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably in early childhood intervention and using person-centered approaches within family centered practice.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, allocate time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • Be tech-savvy with high-level report writing and communication skills, and act with discretion and confidentiality.

Essential:

  • Legal right to work in Australia
  • Currently have (or willing to obtain) NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children clearance, criminal history checks
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (including booster) or eligible medical exemption.
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence and access to a registered vehicle to perform the role
  • Flexibility to work across varied hours and various locations, if required
