Caring for the families of incapacitated and deceased veterans
Legacy is a unique Australian not for profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of families of Australian Defence Force veterans who have served in war, peacekeeping and humanitarian missions and who have died or become incapacitated either on service or subsequently. Throughout South Australia and Broken Hill, Legacy protects the basic needs of individuals and families; advocates for entitlements, rights and benefits of individuals and families, assists families to cope with bereavement and helps people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.
In this varied and interesting position, the Community Services Worker will be responsible for providing a high standard of information, referral and case management services to Legacy beneficiaries and volunteers.
Award - Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services. Rate dependent upon qualifications and experience.
The Community Services Worker is responsible for the provision of direct services to Adelaide Legacy families and for developing and providing information, advice and support to volunteers.
The CSW team provide a range of support services and work with a range of internal and external stakeholders including families, staff, volunteers, other not-for-profit organisations, ex-service organisations and government departments including the Australian Defence Force (ADF), the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Centrelink and other government departments and agencies.
The CSW is required to develop specialised knowledge across the Legacy client groups of Widows, Disability, Youth, and Contemporary Veteran Families. The CSW contributes to information provision and provides case management support.
