Landcare Tasmania is the peak body that represents, supports, strengthens and grows the community Landcare movement in Tasmania. With more than 250 member groups, plus individual and associate members, we support over 7,000 volunteers to maintain and improve the health of Tasmania’s natural and working landscapes.
Landcare Tasmania is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation and registered charity. We work closely with the community, government bodies, businesses, educational institutions and other environmental organisations to achieve environmental and sustainability outcomes for Tasmania. The Education Coordinator plays a key leadership role in developing and delivering Landcare Tasmania’s environmental education programs. This position is responsible for coordinating school-based workshops, excursions, and curriculum-aligned resources to promote environmental awareness and stewardship among young people. The role works closely with the Landcare Tasmania team and external stakeholders to ensure quality delivery of educational activities that align with strategic goals.

1. Member Engagement & Support
Provide responsive, tailored support to schools, educators, and community groups to strengthen engagement with Landcare programs. This includes building relationships, responding to enquiries, improving communication between stakeholders, supporting engagement strategies, assisting with resources and reporting, and managing priorities using project systems.
2. Project and Event Delivery
Deliver and support education projects, workshops, and events across Tasmania. This includes coordinating logistics, delivering curriculum-aligned and place-based learning experiences, supporting small project delivery, ensuring safe and effective program implementation, adapting activities for different audiences, and contributing to reporting and evaluation.
3. Relationships & Collaboration
Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, education partners, Landcare groups, and stakeholders. Represent the organisation professionally at events and meetings, support partnership development and collaboration opportunities, and assist with promoting programs and initiatives through clear communication and engagement.
4. Data Collation
Accurately record and manage stakeholder and program data using CRM systems. This includes logging enquiries and participation, maintaining data quality, analysing trends and engagement gaps, and using insights to inform decision-making and improve program delivery.
5. Grant Management
Support delivery of grant-funded programs in line with funding requirements. This includes assisting with proposals, reporting, and acquittals; monitoring project progress; ensuring compliance and risk management; and contributing to funding applications and evaluation processes.
6. General Responsibilities
Contribute to overall team effectiveness by maintaining records, supporting reporting and systems, and following organisational policies and procedures. Ensure confidentiality, workplace safety, and compliance standards are upheld, and participate in broader organisational activities and events as required.
7. Continuing Professional Development
Maintain current knowledge of environmental education, curriculum requirements, and best-practice delivery. Participate in training and professional development and engage in continuous learning to strengthen capability in education delivery, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.
