Our People, Culture and Compliance Team is looking for a Quality Risk and Compliance Officer to conduct internal audits across Koomarri's services, payroll and management systems to ensure our compliance under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Practice Standards, ACT Senior Practitioner requirements, Fair Work Australia, WHS and Workers Compensation legislation and regulation.

About the team

The scope of the team includes recruitment, on-boarding and induction, generalist HR and Industrial relations advice, learning and development, work health and safety, quality management and compliance.

The Role

This position will report to the Manager – People, Culture and Compliance. This role is a part-time role to start, with the prospect of becoming a full-time role.

Key functions for this position are:

  • Plan, coordinate and conduct internal quality audits and practice reviews.
  • Complete Audit cycle, reports, recommendations for improvement and corrective actions for non-conformities, follow-up and review.
  • Support the development and implementation of Quality, Risk and Compliance policies and procedures to support process improvement and quality outcomes for service users.
  • Analyse and review incident reporting trends and recommended strategies for risk management and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct fortnightly payroll award compliance audits and resolution for over and underpayments.
  • Manage service user/families feedback and complaints process.
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to organisational goals and professional self-development.
  • Model and implement Koomarri's Vision, Values and Code of Conduct.

  • Previous experience in a Quality/Compliance role, or sound knowledge of quality and compliance in the Disability or Aged Care sector.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Practice Standards or experience in operationalising the practice standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills/excellent report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver job outcomes.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and systems thinking.
  • Analytical skills and detail oriented.
  • Process improvement mindset.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.

Essential requirements

  • A current ACT or NSW driver’s license is essential
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Completion Certificate is essential
  • Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People General Registration or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance is essential

Desirable but not essential

  • Certificate IV Disability
  • Diploma of Quality Auditing or Lead Auditor Training.
