We currently require a Senior Social Worker to contribute to the recruitment, training and assessment of prospective foster carers, whilst delivering excellent customer service at all times.

As the Senior Social Worker, you will promote and maintain quality care in a family setting, managing a small case load you will supervise and support foster carers and their practice to support the vulnerable children and young people in their care. In conjunction with the Team Managers you will also provide support and guidance to new social workers during their induction phase, as well as ongoing supervision of new/less experienced social workers.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Have experience in working in a Child and Family social work setting
  • Hold a recognised professional qualification in Social Work. Overseas qualifications must be validated or recognised by the AASW
  • Experience of supervising and leading staff
  • Knowledge of the impact of trauma on children and of attachment theory
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation arising from the various Child Protection Legislation and Government initiatives and Agendas across NSW
  • Hold a WWC Working With Children Check and or be willing to obtain
  • Satisfactorily complete other statutory and personal checks and possess a clear full NSW drivers licence
