About the role

This position requires you to coordinate, enhance and promote our skilled Adventure programs whilst supervising our skilled team of staff in delivering our specialised outdoor adventure activities. You are also required to ensure that programs are accessible and outcome focused.

GenU Adventure facilitates programs for clients that wish to participate in outdoor recreation activities. GenU Adventure encourages learning through adventure based, skill building activities empowering participants to push beyond their boundaries and reach their full potential. The underlying foundation of this program is to build on a person’s physical health, positive communication skills, team work, social skills, self-confidence and mind wellness

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement that you have:

  • Tertiary qualification in disability or a related field, or a minimum of Certificate IV in Disability with substantial experience in the field;
  • Working with Children's Check
  • First Aid Level 2
  • Previous experience in the disability sector or a related sector including: knowledge of providing client choice and self-directed supports
  • Previous experience delivering Outdoor Education programs
  • Positive interpersonal skills including promoting effective communication for program members who are non-verbal
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check;
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You' orientation module.
  • Directions from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer require all Victorian-based workers to have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 22 October 2021 and to be fully vaccinated by 26 November 2021, unless they are an Excepted Person as defined by the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions. All applicants must therefore be able to comply with this requirement.
