Kalwun Development Corporation Ltd is an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation currently seeking to fill the following vacancy at our Head Office based at Varsity Lakes.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated full time Events Coordinator to join our Marketing and Communications team. The successful applicant will work to deliver community and internal corporate events including NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week cultural events, family fun days, staff celebrations and organisational events.  

Position Duties

  • Facilitate the overall planning and management of events on Kalwun’s calendar across all Kalwun business units.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across internal business units as well as external event partners and suppliers.
  • Organise and send invitations and update communication channels including social media.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop relevant content for promoting the events across all relevant channels including websites and social media.
  • Manage all venue requirements including run sheets, AV specs, food and beverage, floor plans, risk assessments and on the day events management.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Two years experience or relevant qualification in events coordination preferred
  • A high level of organisational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple events concurrently
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems collaboratively and creatively.

Additional Information

  • This position requires the successful applicant to satisfy a national criminal history check and hold a current drivers' license.
  • A Blue Card for working with children is a mandatory requirement. The 'No Card No Start' law applies to this position - a Blue Card must be obtained prior to commencement.
  • *IDENTIFIED POSITION - To perform this role it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. A Confirmation of Aboriginality will need to be provided.
