The Opportunity: 

Junction are seeking a strong and independent person to work purposefully with, and advocate for, the children and young people within our program to provide positive outcomes in a short turn around. You will work collaboratively and proactively with external providers to provide excellence in casework and service provision. You will undertake a wide variety of tasks including the planning of daily and specific activities, maintaining accurate documentation, planning and preparing healthy meals, and upholding house hygiene.  

You will have strong experience and understanding of casework and the ability to create and monitor case plans that cater to each individual client's health, wellbeing, and progress while assisting them to develop social and living skills.

Your key outcome is to positively impact clients, enhancing their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development, and empowering them to improve their capacity to transition to the next stage in their life.

Our ideal candidate: 

  • Certificate IV Community Services, Youth Work or equivalent 
  • Ability to work to a 24/7 roster
  • Sound understanding of and experience in working within established case management principles
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and establish rapport with clients, staff and external agencies
  • Demonstrated understanding of appropriate responses to clients with behaviours that demonstrate high and complex needs
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience working with children and young people under Guardianship of the Chief Executive will be highly regarded

You will need to:

  • Complete our online application process
  • Undergo pre-employment testing as part of the recruitment process which will include psychological assessments
  • Provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Provide a current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Provide a current Safe Environments Certificate
  • Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver’s licence and be willing to drive
  • Be prepared to undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training within 6 months of commencing with Junction
